Marianna is the county seat. The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners is responsible for governing the county. The board is comprised of five elected commissioners, who serve staggered four-year terms. The chairman is elected by the commissioners annually. Scheduled meeting are held twice monthly. The County Administrator functions as the county’s chief administrator. School board members also are elected. Alford, Campbellton, Cottondale, Graceville, Grand Ridge, Greenwood, Jacob, Malone, Marianna, and Sneads have elected governing bodies.
