Campbellton Graceville Hospital

The Campbellton-Graceville Hospital is a community-owned hospital licensed by the state of Florida as a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital. This assures that Jackson County residents have access to modern, quality health care close to home. The Campbellton-Graceville Hospital prides itself on maintaining a superior level of care equal to any 500- bed urban facility, all while retaining small-town warmth where patients are known by name.
The hospital was completed in August 1963, though the board that was established to help plan, build and operate the hospital came in short of funds. Between 400 and 500 Jackson County and area residents donated their hard-earned money—in increments of $5 to $1,500—to help complete the vital building. Thirty thousand dollars were donated in a span of 2.5 months to launch the hospital. Donors were recognized with bronze plaques decorating the interior walls.
Jackson Hospital

Jackson Hospital has been an integral part of the community since it was chartered in 1939 through an act of the Florida Legislature. The legislation created a corporation to be governed by nine trustees. These trustees are appointed to the board by the Governor of Florida and are vested with the charge, control and management of the property, services and funds.
Construction on the original structure, located on Third Avenue, began in 1940 and was completed on January 1, 1942. It served the community for 37 years. On September 30, 1979, the present facility opened for business. Over the next 27 years, the fourth floor was added, a helipad was built with funds donated by the late Beulah Tidwell, a new out-patient surgery center and lab were completed and, with a donation by Ms. Clara Hudnall, the Hudnall Medical Office Building was constructed.
