    Event Description:
    The City of Marianna is hosting a poster contest to create awareness of the importance of fair housing, and to educate children and youth about the problems relating to housing discrimination in the United States. Fair housing simply means that no matter who you are, you can choose where you want to live if you can afford it. You cannot be refused to live somewhere because of race, color, religion, age, gender, national origin, disability, familial status, or sex. 
     
    CONTEST RULES: The contest is open to children residing in the City of Marianna – One entry per child. Posters must be on 8.5” x 11” paper and contain the words Fair Housing. Artwork my be dropped off between 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Mon-Fri, April 7th -21st at Melvin Engineering, 4428 Lafayette Street. Late entries will not be accepted. Child’s name, grade, address, and parent/guardian name and phone number must be legibly printed on the back. Winners will be selected the week of May 3rd and contacted on May 10th via phone. Prizes may be picked up May 10-14 from the Municipal Development Office at City Hall during regular business hours. ALL entries will be shown on the City’s website (www.cityofmarianna.com) and/or Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/City-of-Marianna-City-Hall-127946544550794).
